It’s a 4-week hitting academy led by HammerZone’s premier coaching staff, including former college players. Hitters work through drills, competitions, and discussions built around the concepts that define elite-level hitters — and training devices are used to measure progress, so improvement is tracked, not guessed at. It’s a focused development block, not a drop-in cage session.
The academy is $250 per player for a 4-session block (one session per week for four weeks). Each session is capped at 5 slots, so your son is getting near-private coaching attention at a fraction of what four private lessons would cost.
Sessions run in 4-week blocks so you can pick what fits your schedule: Mondays in August (August 3, 10, 17, 24) and Wednesdays in August (August 5, 12, 19, 26).
Hitters are grouped by age into evening time slots: 5:30 – 6:30 pm for ages 8–10, 6:30 – 7:30 pm for ages 10–12, and 7:30 – 8:30 pm for ages 11–13. Grouping by age keeps instruction level-appropriate — your son trains with hitters at a similar stage rather than getting lost in a mixed group.
Each session holds just 5 slots. That’s the whole point of the academy format: enough hitters to create real competition and energy, few enough that every athlete gets hands-on coaching and meaningful reps in every session. Spots go quickly — register early to hold the block and time slot you want.
No. Coaches adjust drills and instruction to each hitter’s level, and because athletes are grouped by age with only five per session, a player still building his foundation and a travel-ball hitter can both be challenged appropriately. Bring a bat, glove, and helmet, plus turf shoes or tennis shoes — no cleats indoors.
The academy is led by HammerZone’s premier coaching staff, including former college players who know what translates from the cage to game day. All sessions are held indoors at 9709 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030, so training stays on schedule regardless of weather. Questions? Call 571-307-5888.
