Greg Crawford brings more than 35 years of experience in baseball as a player, coach, instructor, and program leader. He currently provides private instruction in hitting and fielding, working with players to develop sound fundamentals, athletic movement, confidence, and an approach that translates from training to game competition.
Greg currently serves as the Fairfax Regional Director for Stars Showcase Baseball and coaches both showcase and 13U baseball within the Stars organization. He has coached travel baseball for more than a decade, working with players from 9U through the high school and showcase levels. He also spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Fairfax High School baseball program.
As a hitting instructor, Greg emphasizes developing an individualized approach rather than forcing every hitter into the same swing. His instruction focuses on posture and balance, direction, sequencing, barrel control, plate approach, pitch recognition, and learning to use the entire field. He incorporates tee work, front toss, machine work, movement training, and game-like competition to help hitters understand not only how to swing, but how to hit.
Greg’s baseball background includes serving as a hitting instructor at camps conducted by professional scouts associated with the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians, coaching while serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force in Germany and Greece, and coaching with the YMCA in Washington State and Fairfax Little League. He played collegiate baseball at Yakima Valley College and Pierce College in Washington State.
Greg holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and brings his professional background in leadership and human development into his coaching philosophy. His goal is to develop complete players—helping young athletes improve their mechanics and athleticism while learning how to compete, make adjustments, handle failure, and become more confident baseball players.
