Gardner Meeks is currently a Graduate Assistant Coach for the George Mason University baseball program, where he assists with pitching development and program operations. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management at George Mason, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Division I head baseball coach.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Meeks attended Norfolk Christian Schools and was recruited by several Division III and Division II programs before beginning his collegiate career at Roanoke College. At Roanoke, he served as a relief pitcher, specializing in matchups against right-handed hitters, and developed a strong foundation in collegiate-level pitching mechanics, training programs, and pitching philosophies. He graduated in 2024 with a degree in Communications and a concentration in Management.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Shawn Camp—a former Major League pitcher with over a decade of MLB experience—Meeks continued to refine his game. As the team’s closer, he posted a 4-2 record with 4 saves, a 3.23 ERA, and 55.2 innings pitched over 26 appearances.
Meeks brings his playing experience, leadership, and work ethic to his coaching role, where he is committed to developing student-athletes on and off the field. His passion for the game, paired with his academic and athletic background, position him well for a rising career in college baseball coaching.
