Which is Best for Your Athlete — Small Group or Private Lessons?

Private lessons provide focused, one-on-one instruction tailored to your athlete’s specific goals and skill-development needs. Small-group lessons offer personalized coaching in a motivating, team-oriented environment, allowing up to four athletes to learn through repetition, competition, and peer interaction. Both options provide high-quality instruction—the best choice depends on your athlete’s learning style, experience, and goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can train one-on-one or in a small group, whatever fits your daughter best. Private (1:1) lessons pair her with a HammerZone instructor for fully personalized work on hitting, windmill pitching, fielding, or catching. Small-group lessons (2:1, 3:1, or 4:1) keep that same coaching in a competitive, team-style setting at a lower per-player price. Every session is held indoors at our Fairfax, VA facility so training stays on schedule year-round.

One-on-one (1:1) lessons are $70 for 30 minutes or $110 for the hour, with discounted multi-packs that lower the per-session cost — a 10-pack of 30-minute lessons is $600 (a $100 savings) and a 10-pack of hour lessons is $990 (a $110 savings), each including an evaluation at the beginning and end. Prefer to train with teammates? Small-group lessons are priced per player — 2:1 is $82.50 per player, 3:1 is $65, and 4:1 is $55, all for a 60-minute session. You can book any format right on this page.

Lessons are fully customized — hitting mechanics and pitch recognition, windmill pitching for velocity and command, fielding, or catching. Because it’s one-on-one, the instructor focuses on exactly what she needs, whether she’s building fundamentals or fine-tuning for travel ball and high school tryouts.

A private lesson is 100% one-on-one — ideal for targeted fixes and the fastest individual progress. Academies and small group sessions add structure, peers, and competitive energy at a lower cost. Many families combine them: private lessons for fine-tuning, academy or group work for consistent reps.

Choose a single lesson or a multi-pack on this page to book online, or call 571-307-5888 and we’ll match your daughter with the right instructor. HammerZone Sports is indoors at 9709 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030, serving families across Fairfax, Vienna, Centreville, Chantilly, Burke, and Northern Virginia.
